Al-Jaafari: Syrian government committed to offer all forms of humanitarian aid to people affected by crisis

New York, SANA-Syria’s permanent envoy to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari said on Wednesday that the Syrian government is committed to offer all forms of humanitarian aid to all people affected by the crisis all over the Syrian territories, adding “The government is open to cooperate and coordinate with all states and UN organizations working in Syria.”

“The Syrian government doesn’t deny there is a humanitarian crisis, refugees and affected people, and they are millions, but it disapproves the wrong way through which a number of sides deal with this crisis since its beginning until now, and it finds odd how they see it in a partial way, away from the political, military and economic intervention backgrounds in the Syrian scene,” al-Jaafari said at a UN Security Council session on the humanitarian status in Syria.

He added that Syria rejects to deal with the depth of the humanitarian crisis in the country without engaging seriously in tackling the real reason behind this crisis; mainly the presence of terrorist organizations in Syria and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.

“How could we end the humanitarian crisis in the country in light of the silence about Erdogan’s military attack on the Syrian territories in support of the terrorists and the use of the Turkish lands as a passage and haven for tens of thousands of terrorists,” al-Jaafari wondered.

He affirmed that the Syrian government has informed the UN, on February 16th, of its approval to enter humanitarian aid convoys to the towns and cities of Deir Ezzor, Kafria, al-Foua’a, Madaya, al-Muadamiya, Zabadani and Kfar Batna.

“Solution to the crisis in Syria has two correlative tracks, mainly combating terrorism and the political track, so the Syrian government is committed to fighting terrorism and pushing the political track forwards when a delegation of the Syrian Arab republic has participated in Geneva talks,” al-Jaafari said.

He added that the Syrian government’s declaration of its approval to halt the fighting acts proves once again its seriousness and adherence to stop bloodshed in Syria restore security and stability in light of the popular will of the Syrians.
