Moscow, SANA-UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon criticized on Wednesday the sides which inflame violation in Syria instead of trying to stop it, expressing concern over the international community’s failure to have a unified stance and solve the crisis in Syria.
“I was shocked by what Syria witnesses of events and tragedies which make the crisis as one of the worst one in our recent age,” Ki-Moon told Interfax news agency.
He blamed the international community for its disagreement on Syria, saying that the five-year crisis in Syria is an example on the destructive repercussions of the division in the international community.
“Russia has successfully drawn the attention to the political track through holding consultations in Moscow,” the UN chief said, adding that Security Council also called for another attempt to push the political settlement forward.
“That made UN Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura launch another round of consultations with wide spectrums of Syrian sides in order to revive Geneva communiqué,” Ban K-Moon said.
He affirmed that cooperation among different countries could achieve important outcomes like the chemical weapons’ file in Syria.
