Many French nationals are looking forward to visiting particularly after many exhibitions were held in a number of French cities which illuminated the French people about the archaeological and tourist sites in Syria, she added.

For their part, members of delegation said that they oppose France’s hostile policy towards Syria; the country which was living in stability and peace before the abhorrent terrorist war, asserting that the war is targeting the civil, tourist and historical heritage of Syria.

The minister stressed the importance of such visits to “bring down the illusory barrier that the French government has imposed on them about the situation in Syria, pointing out that Syria is confronting a terrorist war that had negatively impacted its human heritage and caused a steep decline in the number of tourists visiting Syria, not to mention the massive damage to archaeological sites.

The Syrians are steadfast and more committed to the unity of their homeland, the minister added.

Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badr-Eddin Hassoun affirmed, during his meeting with the delegation, that it’s time for the entire world, particularly Europe, to know the truth about the situation in Syria after four years of organized terrorism which is supported and led by regional and international powers.

Hassoun added that those powers pretend to be protecting human rights while at the same time financing, fostering and training terrorists to kill Syrians.

The mufti urged the delegation members to convey the true image of what is happening in Syria to French people and the entire world despite lies propagated by misleading media.
