Archbishop Hanna calls for praying for security and stability in Syria

Occupied Jerusalem, SANA – Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia Atallah Hanna called for praying for the return of security and stability to Syria and the return of the abducted Bishops Paul Yazigi and John Ibrahim.

Speaking on occasion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Archbishop Hanna called upon the churches of Jerusaelm to pray for Syria, Palestine, and Iraq, noting that an activity is being organized to express solidarity with Syria, Iraq, and the abducted Bishops.

He also stressed the need to embrace coexistence and peace and reject extremist, hatred, and violence in all their forms.

Greek Orthodox Metropolite of Aleppo and Iskenderun, Bishop Paul Yazigi, and Syriac Orthodox Metropolite of Aleppo, Bishop John Ibrahim, were abducted by terrorists on April 22 2013, while the two were doing humanitarian work in the village of Kafr Dael in Aleppo countryside.
