Moscow, SANA – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin stressed that his country is holding to its part of the Russian-US truce deal in Syria, with the Syrian army “fully abiding” by the cessation of hostilities.
In a press conference on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Summit in the Kyrgyz capital of Bishkek on Saturday, Putin said that the United States does not want to disclose the details of the agreement on Syria because this will immediately reveal who is not abiding by it, noting that his country will not disclose them, until the US partners agree with it.
He added that the US is facing difficulties since it still can’t separate the opposition from the terrorists, noting that “We see no separation of terrorists and healthy forces, but rather attempts by terrorists to regroup.”
The Russian president said that Russia and the US seek to establish peace in Syria and achieve their shared objective in combating international terrorism, adding that the achievement of such goals requires more transparency and honesty by the two sides.
