Russian Foreign Ministry: 21 “opposition” groups refused to abide by truce

Moscow, SANA – The Russian Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that 21 “armed opposition” groups refused to abide by the conditions of the truce that came into effect on Monday, including “Ahrar al-Cham” group.

The Ministry said in a statement that this refusal i9s a blatant challenge for the efforts of Russia and the United States for bolstering the cessation of combat activities, resolving humanitarian issues, and preparing for launching a political process.

The Ministry stressed the need to prevent extremists from imposing their own bloody agenda on Syria, urging all sides that have influence on the groups that refused to deal with them as their provocations mustn’t be allowed to hinder efforts for reaching a political settlement in Syria.
