UN calls upon all regional and international parties to work with it on launching Syrian dialogue

Geneva, SANA- UN Secretary General Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq called upon all the regional and international parties concerned in the situation in Syria to work with the UN on achieving a progress for launching the inter-Syrian dialogue, expressing hope that the communications between Russia, Turkey and Iran will contribute to settling the crisis in Syria.

In a relevant context, Haq announced that the UN focuses in its contacts with Russia and the US on achieving what he called as “long humanitarian truces in Aleppo” to provide aid for the locals of the city.

Since the Syrian Arab Army established control over al-Castelo Road to the north of Aleppo on July 17th, the Syrian government announced, in cooperation with the Russian allies, opening four humanitarian corridors to Aleppo city to help the civilians and to evacuate the families and patients as scores of families got out of the city through these corridors and humanitarian aid entered the neighborhoods besieged by the armed terrorist groups.

Haq said in a press conference on Wednesday that the UN insists on weekly 48-hour truces to guarantee that the humanitarian aid will reach Aleppo, indicating that these details are being discussed with the Russians and the Americans.

Earlier, Hmeimim-based Russian center monitoring the cessation of hostilities agreement announced a daily 3-hour truce in Aleppo, yet the terrorists breach it every day.
