Lavrov, Kerry discuss coordination to fight terrorism in Syria

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed with US Secretary of State John Kerry coordination to fight terrorism in Syria and ensure the continuation of the cessation of hostilities agreement, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday.

The ministry said, after lavrov and kerry’s telephone conversation, that the two sides discussed the situation in Syria with a concentration on the situation in Aleppo where the Syrian government forces, supported by Russia, carry out a large-scale humanitarian operation.

It added that “both sides discussed in detail preparations for practical implementation of the agreements reached during a visit of John Kerry to Moscow on July 15, regarding coordinated action in the fight against terrorist groups in Syria and to ensure the systemof cessation of hostilities.”
