Exhibition of private Projects kicks off in Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA- Exhibition of private Projects kicked off in La Mira Hotel in Lattakia on Thursday to find a solution for the stalled tourism projects due to lack of funding with the participation of 50 tourist projects, a large number of investors, businessmen, expatriates and representatives of banks .

The exhibition, held by the Ministry of Tourism, aims at finding an agreement among investors and owners of private projects to enable these projects launch work after getting the necessary licenses from the Ministry of Tourism.

During the opening ceremony, Minister of Tourism Bisher Yaziji said the exhibition is distinguished as it is the first of its kind in the Syrian coast which is considered the vital nerve for the Syrian tourism, adding that it carries a new vision that enhances partnerships between the public and private sectors.

Minister Yaziji added that the exhibition is a real cell of work in which all parties share construction and work, emphasizing the unlimited encouragement by the Ministry of Tourism to micro, small and medium projects.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Director of tourism in Lattakia Wael Mansour said that Lattakia is a tourist destination that has all the factors of success for any investment or project.

A seminar was held after the opening ceremony entitled “ the stalled tourism projects .. Reality and solutions” .

In turn, Minister of Social affairs Rima al-Qaderi said that the investment in the tourism sector can be reflected on other sectors, particularly in the social side which includes the distinguished human cadres in tourism which is one of the most important elements of this economic industry.

Governor of Lattakia Ibrahim Khudr al-Salem also said that Lattakia governorate cares about tourism projects, noting that, during the past period, rehabilitation of a number of tourist and archeological facilities were accomplished in coordination with the parties concerned.
