Damascus, SANA – Grand Mufti of the Republic Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun said Syria is fighting terrorism and extremism on behalf of Europe and the world.
His remarks came during a meeting with member of the Executive Committee and the International Relations Committee in the Communist Party of Spain Francisco Frutos Gras and member of the Central Committee of the Living Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia( PSUC viu) Edwardo Luque Guerrero.
Hassoun called for stopping support to terrorists provided by the US, Europe, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar and ceasing interference in Syria’s internal affairs.
For their part, Gras and Guerrero voiced their conviction that Syria is faced with a fierce terrorist attack, noting that they took part in events held in Spain in solidarity with Syria.
They added that they will convey the real picture of the events in Syria to the Spanish people to uncover the falsification of the western media about what is going on in this country.
Gras and Guerrero also expressed readiness to do whatever they can to expose the lies of the western media about Syria and continue efforts seeking to restore normal relations between the Spanish and Syrian people.
