A new charity medical center opened in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- The two charities of “al-Shabab” and “al-Bashaer” on Saturday opened a charity medical center at al-Woroud neighborhood in Damascus to provide medical services to the families of the martyrs and the poor.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of al-Shabab Charity Mohammad Qais Ramadan told SANA that the center provides medical services to the martyrs’ families for free.

Ramadan added that the center embraces emergency department, x-ray department, laboratory, pediatrics department and comprehensive clinics, indicating that elite doctors of different specialties work at the center.

For his part, Director of the center Fayaz Sheikh al-Ard said that the center provides services for all the segments of the society, adding that the cadre working at the center embraces about 50 doctors and nurses.

Sheikh al-Ard underlined the importance of enhancing the cooperation between the civil societies and the government to provide more comprehensive services for the citizens.

Head of al-Bashaer charity Anwar Yusef al-Hussein stressed the importance of establishing a charity clinic in al-Woroud neighborhood, particularly as the number of the neighborhood’s residents reaches 300,000 people including 150,000 displaced families and as the neighborhood embraces about 1,100 of the martyrs’ families and 300 of the wounded’s families.
