Petroleum Minister, Indian Ambassador discuss prospects of Indian companies investing in Syria

Damascus, SANA – Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Sleiman al-Abbas discussed on Monday with Ambassador of India in Damascus Man Mohan Bhanot the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of petroleum, gas, and mineral resources.

Al-Abbas called on Indian companies to invest in the field of oil and gas exploration in land and sea in Syria, as well as building and developing refineries, oil shale investment projects, and developing phosphates production and industries, with the Minister welcoming the participation of Indian companies in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the oil and gas sectors.

For his part, the Indian Ambassador voiced confidence in the possibility of creating various and diverse cooperation ventures, expressing intent to encourage Indian companies to invest in the oil and gas sectors in Syria.
