Health Ministry, WFP to enhance joint cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Health Minister Nizar Yazigi affirmed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation between the ministry and humanitarian organizations operating in Syria.

During a meeting with Chief Advisor for planning programs’ strategies in the World Food Program (WFP) Chris Toy, Yazigi stressed the importance of maintaining the quality of food packages which are provided by international organizations and making sure that all packages are compatible with the standards and specifications of Syrian Health Ministry.

He pointed out that the ministry has specific programs to import medicines and foodstuffs which are distributed among needy people through health centers in all provinces.
In turn, WFP official expressed the organization’s readiness to promote joint cooperation with Syria and support programs related to feeding children.
