Lattakia Governor calls for more ICRC assistance to meet the province’s needs

Lattakia, SANA – Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khodr al-Salem called on the international organizations to fulfill their role in providing humanitarian aid under the current crisis.

He asked the director of Tartous Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to provide the province with prefabricated caravans to accommodate people displaced due to terrorism, in addition to generators and other equipment to expand the water networks.

The governor also asked for help in digging wells, providing assistance for school renovation, medical equipment for hospitals and health centers and contributing to the rehabilitation of houses destroyed by terrorists.

In turn, the ICRC director stressed that the organization will continue providing aid to those affected by the crisis in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and providing Lattakia province with its needs according to priorities.

The activities of the ICRC office in Tartous also cover Lattakia and Idleb provinces.
