Beirut, SANA- Syria’s Grand Mufti Dr. Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun said that enemies do not want one Islamic world that achieves scientific development, builds the nation, promotes moral values and raises the flag of Islam that embraces all religions.
In a speech at the International Union of Resistance clerics conference in Beirut, Hassoun added that Syria has stood its ground over five years of crisis.
“Over five years of war, the number of states that had united against Syria decreased as 120 states gathered under the name” Friends of Syria” in the first year of the crisis, dropping to 12 as a result of its steadfastness,” the Mufti said.
Mufti Hassoun noted that the terrorists had perpetrated gruesome crimes against the Syrian people, including women and children in Palmyra city during the latest terrorist offensive against the historic city.
He said that the aim of the meeting of resistance clerics is to build the future and call for closing the ranks.
Mufti Hassoun also pointed to the great role and power of the Lebanese resistance and its leadership at this stage when the nation and Muslims are facing a fierce campaign intended to subdue them, adding that the resistance has sent a strong message to enemies that it became stronger and would achieve victory as it had always done.
