PM and Boroujerdi discuss mechanisms of boosting economic cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi stressed Thursday the Syrian government’s keenness that Iranian companies participate in the rebuilding stage in Syria, enhancing Syrian-Iranian economic, industrial, commercial, medical and media cooperation and establishing joint development projects, particularly the electricity generation plants, hospitals, wheat cells and mills.

Syria and Iran constitute a strategic depth for each other and an axis of steadfastness and resistance in the face of the Zio-American schemes against the region, al-Halaqi said during a meeting with Chairman of the Iranian Shura Council’s Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security Alaeddin Boroujerdi, who is on a visit to Syria.

Both sides discussed during the meeting mechanisms of boosting economic and development cooperation between the two countries, activating the signed agreements and signing new others.

Premier al-Halaqi appreciated Iran’s firm and principled stances in supporting the Syrian people in confronting the global terrorist war waged against them and enhancing their steadfastness in the face of the unfair economic sanctions imposed against them.

For His part, Boroujerdi renewed Iranian leadership and people care for strengthening economic and development ties with Syria, enhancing the potential and resilience of the Syrian people to overcome the terrorist war waged against them.

The Iranian official hailed the victories achieved by the Syrian Army across the country.

The visiting Iranian official stressed the importance of unifying the two countries’ efforts to confront the premediated conspiracies targeting the region.

He expressed confident that the Syrian people will soon achieve the final victory against their enemy.

Syria and Iran signed mid-March, during a joint session held between the two sides in Damascus, an economic cooperation agreement over energy, industrial and agricultural domains and to increase joint investments and activate the role of private sector in this regard during a joint discussions session held between the two sides in Damascus.
