Gold hits record high

London, SANA- Gold hit a lifetime high on Wednesday on safe-haven demand ahead of the U.S. presidential election, while investor focus is also on U.S. economic data for clues on the rate cut outlook.

Reuters reported that’’ Spot gold was up 0.2 percent to $2,779.39 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures rose 0.4 percent to $2,791.70’’.

As for other precious metals, silver fell in spot transactions by 0.3 percent to $34.33 per ounce, while palladium fell by nearly one percent to $1,210.72, while platinum rose by 0.1 percent to $1,046.89.
