Pezeshkian: Iran doesn’t seek war, but will defend its people’s rights

Tehran, SANA- – Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said that the Islamic Republic does not seek war, but will defend the rights of its people and will give a proportionate response to the latest Israeli aggression against the country.

Chairing a cabinet session on Sunday, President Pezeshkian said “The Islamic Republic and the Iranian people have shown over the past 45 years that they would not back down from their position in the face of any aggressor.”

Emphasizing Iran’s right to respond to the Israeli aggression, Pezeshkian said: “We do not seek war, but we will defend our country and the rights of our people. We will give a proportionate response to the aggression by the Zionist entity.”

Pezeshkian spoke about the ongoing crimes committed by the Israeli entity against the people of Gaza and Lebanon.

He noted that all people across the world are witnessing that the Zionist entity’s backers, at the top of them the US, claim to defend freedom and human rights, but remain silent on the killing of tens of thousands of women and children by this savage entity.

The Iranian president warned that tensions will escalate if the Zionist entity continues its aggression and crimes, saying that the US is provoking the Zionist entity into committing these crimes.

Today, the awakened consciences around the world hate the Zionist entity and the crimes of this savage entity, the Iranian president underlined.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian expressed his condolences to the families, the Iranian Army Force and all the military personnel of the country for the martyrdom of four members of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s air defense forces, and called on the responsible officials to bring perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.
