Damascus, SANA- – Hammouda Sabbagh won the post as a speaker of people’s assembly by acclamation during the opening session that resumed its work on Thursday, of the 1st extraordinary session of the 4th legislative term.
Meanwhile, Maher Hajjar won also by acclamation as Deputy Speaker of People’s Assembly, Mohamed Thaer al-Jawhari and Fawzia Manaa won seats of the two secretaries of the Assembly’s office, and Ayman Ahmed and Gamal Suleiman won the seats of the two observers in the Assembly’s office.
In his speech before the Council, Sabbagh underline the need to work in a way that contributes in the development process, noting that the People’s Assembly has qualitative tasks in a new stage of progress, in order to strengthen self-capabilities, complete the reconstruction process, and reach comprehensive development in all fields, noting the legendary steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of the wars and unjust sieges imposed on the Syrian people by the forces of evil, aggression and terrorism.
Sabbagh concluding his speech by extending his respect and appreciation to the Syrian people, men of the Syrian Arab Army, and to President Bashar al-Assad.
