Syria, Mauritania discuss boosting bilateral parliamentary ties

Damascus-SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh, stressed the depth of Syrian-Mauritanian relations and the importance of strengthening them in various fields, especially at the parliamentary level in the two States.

Meeting today with the newly-appointed Sidi Ould Doumane, the Ambassador of Mauritania in Damascus, on the occasion of assuming his duties, Sabbagh called for achieving significant progress in parliamentary relations in terms of exchanging experiences, intensifying visits, and cooperating in all joint regional and international forums in a way that benefits both sides.

The Mauritanian ambassador hailed Syria’s positions and steadfastness, along with its historical and pivotal role in supporting just Arab causes, most notably the rights of the Palestinian people, attaching great importance to developing bilateral cooperation in various fields.
