10 explosive devices and rocket bomb dismantled in Palmyra, Homs

Homs, SANA – The army thwarted Friday a terrorists’ attempt to detonate 10 explosive devices they had earlier planted in an area located 40 km east of Palmyra city in the countryside of Homs.

In cooperation with the authorities, an army unit successfully defused the devices, which weighed 25 to 40 kg each, according to a source in Homs.

The dismantling was carried out without causing any casualties, the source confirmed to SANA, adding that a rocket triggered by terrorists as a bomb to be remotely detonated was dismantled near Ark village in northeastern Palmyra city.

Earlier this month, 10 explosive devices placed inside water channels and under bridges in eastern Palmyra were dismantled.
