Interior Minister: Syria determined to combat terrorism, cooperates with UN

Damascus, SANA-Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar affirmed on Wednesday that Syria is determined to combat terrorism and cooperate with the international community in this regard, referring to Syria’s efforts in fulfilling domestic national reconciliations.

The Minister, meeting UN UnderSecretary-General for Safety and Security Peter Drennan and an accompanying delegation, said the Syrian government cooperates with the UN and other international organizations to facilitate their mission in the country, appreciating the efforts they exert, particularly in the field of humanitarian task.

“Syria, since the foundation of the UN, has been committed to the international resolutions and conventions and it has responded to the international initiatives to resolve the crisis in the country and stop terrorism being practiced against the Syrian people,” Minister al-Shaar added.

Drennan, for his part, thanked the Syrian government for the support it offers to the international organizations, protect and facilitate their mission to have it succeed.

He added the international organization delivers the humanitarian aid to the people in need, synchronizing with other endeavors to reach a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.
