Syria, South Africa to enhance culture relations

Damascus, SANA-Culture Minister Issam Khalil discussed Monday with  South African Ambassador in Damascus Shaun Byneveldt the cultural relations between Syria and South Africa, pointing out to the need for promoting them up to the level of distinguished political relations between both countries.

During the meeting, The Minister affirmed that the Syrian people highly respect stances of South African government towards the universal war launched on Syria, appreciating the South African people’s struggle to gain their rights.

For his part, Ambassador Byneveldt hailed the efforts exerted by the Syrian Ministry of Culture to develop bilateral ties, referring to some domains of cooperation which would strengthen ties, particularly in the fields of cinema, Kids’ programs and music.
