Mikdad gives presentation on latest developments in Syria, the region and Syrian-Indian relations

New Delhi, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faysal Mikdad held a dialogue session with researchers at the Institute (Manohar Parrikar) for Defense Studies and Analysis (IDSA), in the presence of a large number of military and political experts, academics, diplomatic figures and his accompanying delegation.

The session comes within the framework of his visit to the Indian capital, New Delhi.

Minister Mikdad gave a presentation on the latest developments in Syria, the region and the world, and the Syrian-Indian relations, pointing out to Syria’s achievements in the field of combating terrorism and the dangers posed by the presence of the occupation in some regions and some countries continued support of terrorism and use it to serve their agendas.

Mikdad referred to the negative impacts of the unilateral economic measures imposed on Syria, stressing that they are inhumane and immoral, praising the humanitarian assistance provided by India to Syria.

He highlighted the historical dimension of the Syrian-Indian relations, pointing out to the importance of this principled example of bilateral relations between countries.

Mikadad talked about Syria’s vision and stance on a number of developments on the regional and international arenas, stressing the importance of coordination between like-minded countries in dealing with challenges and developments on the international arena.

Then Mikdad answered some questions on Syria’s foreign relations, its participation in Astana meetings, and Syria’s significant experience in fighting terrorism and facing different forms of extremism.
