Syrian badminton team wins 19 medals in Arab and West Asia Badminton Championships in Kuwait

Kuwait, SANA- Syria national badminton team won 19 various medals in the Arab Badminton Championship competitions for the age groups of 15, 17, 19 years, and the West Asia Badminton Championship for under 15 and 17 years, which were held in Kuwait.

Syria’s  players Baraa al-Barkho and Hussam al-Raei won the doubles gold in the U15, while the two players won the singles silver and bronze respectively. In women’s U15, Raneem Hasbani and Fulla Al-Najjar won the women’s doubles silver, while Hasbani won the singles bronze.

In the U17, Haydara Higazy and Tim Masoud won the men’s doubles bronze.

In the U17, Sydra al-Hosni and Tala Hatoum won the women’s doubles bronze, while al- Hosni won the singles bronze.

In the U19 players Yara al-Sawas and Sanaa al-Zoubi won the women’s doubles silver.

In the West Asia Badminton Championship for under 15 and 17 years, the Syrian team has won 10 medals, 1 gold , 6 silver, and 3 bronze.

The gold medal was won by Husam al-Raei and Baraa al-Barkho in the men’s doubles in the U15.

Teams from Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Egypt and Algeria participated in the Arab championship, while teams from Kuwait, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon took part in the competitions of West Asia Badminton Championship.
