Damascus Countryside, SANA -Units of the army and armed forces restored Wednesday morning security and stability to Deir Maker town and established control over Tal al-Sarja and Tal Arous in the southwestern countryside of Damascus, a military source said.
It told SANA that the army units continued chasing members of takfiri terrorist organizations in the area, killing and injuring a number of them.
The new gains are being achieved within a large-scale military operation the army has launched a few days ago at the axis of the western countryside of Damascus, Quneitra and the northwestern countryside of Daraa.
On Tuesday, the army gained firm grip on al-Denaji town, which borders the southern province of Quneitra, only one day after it established control over Tal Merei in the western countryside of Damascus, which connects Deir Maker with Deir al-Adas town in Daraa.
Deir al-Adas, which is a point of link between the Israeli enemy and al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra which the former directly supports, came under the control of the army that restored security and stability to the town on Tuesday. The army also established control over Tall Mseih (a hill) overlooking the town.
