Wadi Conference for Doctors in the Homeland and Abroad kicks off

Homs, SANA-Events of al-Wadi Conference for Doctors in the Homeland and Abroad were launched Thursday with participation of doctors from America, France, Germany, Britain, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, in addition to the participation of Syrian universities at al-Wadi International University in Homs.

Higher Education Minister, Bassam Ibrahim, affirmed that this conference provides students at postgraduate studies an opportunity to get to know the doctors living abroad with the aim of providing their supervision and guidance for the students’ theses.

“The ministry’s instruction nowadays is to improve the quality of higher education and scientific research”, the minister added.

Assistant Health Minister , Ahmad Dhmerie, said that this scientific participation among the Syrian doctors reflects Syria’s bright civilized face.

Rector of the al-Wadi University, Basheer Elias, noted that this event has become an annual tradition as it establishes a bridge of communication between the distinguished Syrian doctors abroad and our doctors inside the homeland.

“This creates a state of scientific knowledge necessary for keeping up to date with latest medical developments and scientific researches”, Elias added.
