Transport and Administrative Development Ministers address queries of People’s Assembly members

Damascus, SANA – The Transport and Administrative Development Ministers addressed queries posed by members of the People’s Assembly regarding the ministries’ performance and efforts during an Assembly session on Tuesday.

The Assembly members called for finding solution to transport issues and the rising transport fares, addressing the SYP exchange rate and revising the Central Bank’s policies in this regard and specifically in terms of its intervention sessions.

They also reiterated calls for resolving the issue of abductees and missing people and supporting the people of Aleppo, in addition to suggesting setting specific durations for state posts to curb corruption and reimbursing the owners of cars damaged by terrorists attacks.

Transport Minister Ghazwan Kher Bek said the government is working on resolving public transport issues, with plans to provide new buses and fix old buses to deal with the increasing population density in Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, and Lattakia.

He added that the Ministry issued an ownership deeds for cars that will be given to car owners free of charge.

In turn, Administrative Development Minister Hassan al-Nouri said that all ministries and establishments are cooperating with his ministry’s plan for developing administration and work in the public sector, with these plans being devised after analyzing the current status of administrative work, adding that this was difficult due to several factors such as the lack of precise statistics and solid data.
