70 new coronavirus cases and 5 new deaths in Syria  

Damascus, SANA- 70 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Syria and 100 patients recovered, while 5 others passed away, according to the Health Ministry.

The Ministry added in a statement on Wednesday that the total number of infections registered in the country has reached up to 49,493, of which 30,770 have recovered, while the death toll has reached up to 2828.

On March 22^nd last year, the first coronavirus case was detected in a person who came from abroad, meanwhile the first fatality was reported on the 29^th of the same month.
