Syria participates in national historical event in Rostov City, Russia

Moscow, SANA- With the participation of Syria represented by its Ambassador in Moscow, Dr. Riyad Haddad, an international historical national event under the title “Making Peace through Generations in Memory of Russian Historical State” has been held in the southern Russian city of Rostov.

“The chosen title historically expresses the policy of the Russian Federation, and we have witnessed this policy in Syria which aims at consolidating peace and stability and achieving them at the international level,” Ambassador Haddad said in a speech during the opening session of the event.

Hadad, during a meeting with Vasily Yuryevich Golubev, Governor of Rostov district, stressed that Syria is doing everything it can with the help of Russian friends to create the necessary conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

He noted that large numbers of refugees have returned to Syria, but some Western countries are trying to hinder Syria’s continued efforts to achieve this return.

Golubev, for his part, said that the authorities of Rostov district work to find new means to cooperate with Syria, whether in the field of humanitarian support or in securing conditions for fruitful cooperation between businessmen in both countries.

In interviews with Russian media outlets, Ambassador Haddad said that the issues listed on the forum’s agenda held in the framework of the event are of great interest to the Syrian side.

He also expressed the gratitude of the Syrian people, government and leadership for the aid provided by the Russian Federation to the Syrian people, and the firm stance adopted by the Russian leadership in defending Syria and preserving its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity
