Syria, Cuba to boost cooperation in health and pharmaceutical sectors

Havana, SANA- Syria’s Ambassador to Cuba, Idris Mayya, discussed on Thursday with Dr. Vicente Vérez Bencomo, general director of the Finlay Vaccine Institute in Cuba, means of enhancing relations between the two countries in the sectors of health and pharmaceutical industries.

During the meeting which was held at the institute’s building in Havana, Mayya hailed the achievements of Cuba in reaching the production of anti-Coronavirus vaccines, pointing out to the importance that the Syrian government attaches to boosting relations with Cuba.

For his part, Dr. Bencomo briefed Mayya on the remarkable progress made by the Cuban pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the context of the production of anti-Corona vaccines, stressing the need to benefit from the experiences of the two countries in this field.
