Beirut, SANA- Syria and Lebanon have discussed means to boost and consolidate cooperation and integration between the two friendly countries in various domains.

That came during a meeting between Lebanese Minister of Defense Maurice Selim and Syria’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim.

The Lebanese Minister affirmed the depth of the relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples.

He added that the cooperation between Syria and Lebanon in all domains is a key factor for achieving the interests of the two countries.

Minister Selim welcomed the progress in the file of transferring electricity and gas through Syria and the positive hoped-for reflections of this file on the economic level.

He highly appreciated Syria’s cooperation for achieving tangible outcomes that would reflect positively on both sides.

Ambassador Abdul Karim, for his part, hoped for the success of the Lebanese government and army in achieving their tasks.

The Ambassador said that Syria is keen on providing all possible assistance to Lebanon, underlining the importance of cooperation between the two countries on the level of security as the terrorism which has targeted Syria is also threatening Lebanon and the whole world.

The cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism has been decisive and crucial and it is a necessity imposed by the interest and the brotherly relations,” Abdul Karim said.
