“High Voltage” …Syrian film winning Taharqa Golden Award

Damascus, SANA – The short film “High Voltage” won Taharqa Golden Award of the International Film Festival in Sudan for the director al-Mohannad Kulthoum and the scenarist Samer Mohammad Ismail.

The film tries to defend residents of slum dwellers in a love story that combines a young man who works as a lighting technician in a filmmaking company and a young woman who comes from the countryside to study the art of theater in Damascus.

Ismail told SANA that the award proves that Syrian cinema has always been at the frontline of defending the Syrian human and his/her ability to break any siege, particularly that imposed on the Syrian films.
