Russian Ministry of Defense holds the US side responsible for the collision in northeastern Syria

Moscow, SANA- The Russian Ministry of Defense held the US occupation forces responsible for the collision that took place in Qamishli area in northeastern Syria, and resulted in the injury of a number of American soldiers.

The ministry said in a statement on Thursday, that in violation of existing agreements, the US occupation forces that are existed illegally in Hasaka countryside tried to prevent the Russian patrol from passing through and carrying out its tasks, adding “in response, the military police of the Russian armed forces has taken all the necessary measures to prevent the accident and continue carrying out the mission”.

A video tape taken from a Russian military vehicle and widely circulated by social media showed an attempt by US to intercept Russian vehicles in Hasaka countryside, so that a Russian helicopter intervened and approached the ground and raised a storm of dust around the American vehicles.

In the wake of the accident, two US officials on Wednesday evening announced that a number of American soldiers were injured in an accident that took place with Russian forces in Syria.

The Russian Defense Ministry pointed out that a conversation was made between Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, Mark Milley after the accident, during which General Gerasimov confirmed that the American side has been informed in advance of the passage of a convey of the Russian military police.

Russia has been participating in the war on terror alongside the Syrian Arab Army since September 2015 at the request of the Syrian Arab Republic, while the US occupation forces are deployed in many areas in Syrian al-Jazeera in violation of the International law and are working on the theft of the Syrian oil in collusion with the (QSD) militia in those regions.
