Astana guarantor states condemn Israeli aggressions on Syrian territories

Geneva, SANA-Astana guarantor states; Russia, Iran and Turkey, condemned the Israeli repeated acts of aggression on Syrian territories and the illegal bargain between the US and SDF militia to steal the Syrian oil.

“The three sides object the illegal confiscation of the oil revenues and transfers that should return to Syria… they also condemn the illegal bargain between a US-licensed company and the illegal formations,” said a joint statement issued by the guarantor states following their consultations in Geneva.

According to RT, the statement stressed that the Israeli repeated aggression on Syria is a violation of the principles of international law which damage the sovereignty of Syria and pose threat to the stability in the region.

It also denounced the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria which are synchronized with the spread of coronavirus.

The statement renewed the three sides’ commitment to Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and combating all forms of terrorism and the separatist agendas.

It pointed out to the agreement for continuing cooperation to eliminate terrorist organizations of Daesh “ISIS”, Jabhat al-Nusra and the other affiliated groups.

The statement also underlined the significant role played by the Committee of Discussing the Constitution in Geneva which is represented in continuing the political process which is led and implemented by the Syrians themselves under the auspices of UN and according to the Security Council’s resolution no. 2254, indicating that the committee should be guided in its work by “the positive cooperation without any foreign international interference and the imposition of timetables from abroad with the aim of reaching a general accord among its members.”

The joint statement of the guarantor states of Astana process also affirmed determination to hold the 15th session on Syria within Astana format as soon as this will be possible.
