Palmyra, SANA-Authorities concerned in Palmyra and Homs extinguished on Tuesday a mass fire that erupted in nearly 200 hectares of the historic palm and olive trees in the southern outskirts of the city.
Palmyra orchards oasis dates back to nearly 6000 years with 420 hectares area which includes about 200 thousand palm trees and 300 thousand olive ones.
The fires targeted half of the planted areas.
