Lattakia, SANA-Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, governor of Lattakia Ibrahim Khudre al-Salim offered condolences to the family of the late retired Lieutenant General Mohammad Mustafa Sofi, former Defense Minister, who died on Tuesday.
“Upon the directives of President al-Assad, I convey his true and genuine condolences to the family and relatives of former defense Minister Sofi on his demise,” the governor said.
The late defense Minister was born in Lattakia in 1927. He participated in Palatine war of 1948. He became Minister of Defense in 1963.
