Damascus University ranks 56th in International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) in Beijing

Beijing, SANA- A team from Damascus University secured the 56th place out of 140 advanced American and European universities in the 42nd International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) which was held in Beijing, China last week.

Five teams from the universities of Damascus, Tishreen, al-Baath and The Higher Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology (HIAST) participated in the competition which hosted programmers from the world’s best universities.

Damascus University’s team solved four tasks, while al-Baath, HIAST  and Tishreen university team solved three others.

A team from Moscow State University has earned the title of the championship and Beijing University came third.

National Director of the competition, Dr. Jaafar al-Khair said that the preparation for the competition at the Arab level will be conducted soon in order to ensure more effective participation in the international competition.
