Syria wins third place at West Asian Women’s Handball Championship

Amman, SANA- Syrian women’s handball team won the third place within the second edition of the West Asian Women’s Handball Championship which concluded in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Wednesday.

During the Championship, the Syrian team had won three matches against Iraq, Qatar and Lebanon and lost two matches to its Jordanian and Iranian counterpart.

Iran has won the Championship title after beating all the teams while the Jordanian team came second.

In 2016, the first edition of the tournament, which was held in a one-phase league system, was hosted by Doha where the Qatari team won the title after beating Jordan.
