Thursday weather: Temperatures below average, rainfalls expected

Damascus, SANA- Temperatures will continue to drop to become slightly below average as the country is affected by a low air pressure in all layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Thursday bulletin that the skies will be cloudy and rainy in most areas while snow will fall over the mountains whose height exceeds 1200 meters, and the rainfalls will be heavy and accompanied by thunder sometimes, warning against floods in the valleys and slopes.

The wind will be westerly to southwesterly with a moderate speed and active gusts and the sea waves will be medium to high in amplitude.

Different amounts of rainfalls have been registered in a number of Syrian provinces over the past 24 hours as follows: Damascus Countryside 11mm, Homs 14 mm, Hama 45mm, Tartous 80mm, Lattakia 74mm, Aleppo 23mm, Sweida 6mm, Quneitra 22mm and Daraa 7mm.

The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 10/4, Daraa 10/5, Homs 9/4, Lattakia 13/9, Aleppo 8/3 and Deir Ezzor 11/5.
