Damascus, SANA- People’s Assembly, chaired by Speaker Hammodeh Sabbagh, discussed on Sunday the performance of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Ministry and issues related to its work.

The MPs called for punishing monopolists, activating the role of positive intervention institutions and consumer protection associations as well as monitoring the work of bakeries.

Responding to the MPs inquiries, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Abdullah al-Gharbi affirmed that the Ministry will reduce the prices of 25 basic materials between 10 and 15 per cent out of their value, adding there is no fear of the strategic stockpile of wheat.
