Symposium in Solidarity with Syria in facing terrorism held

Madrid, SANA- Participants in ‘Syria from Pain to Hope” symposium, held at the Cultural Center of Osuna University, expressed solidarity with Syria in facing the terrorist war being waged against it backed by the US, Israel and a number of western countries and with the participation of the Turkish, Saudi and Qatari regimes.

They hailed the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in facing the terrorist organizations and the Syrian people’s steadfastness in the face of the conspiracy hatched against their country.

The participants also touched upon the role of a number of Spanish and European mass media in deluding the Spanish public opinion and distorting the facts about what is going on in Syria.

Syria’s Ambassador in Madrid, Milad Atiyyeh, presented a briefing on the suffering of the Syrian people due to the global conspiracy against their country backed by the US, the Zionist entity, France, Britain and the Turkish, Saudi and Qatari regimes.

Atiyyeh pointed out to the misleading media campaign which distorted the truth for concealing the reality of the conspiracy against Syria.

The ambassador reiterated that the US and its western and regional allies’ support to the terrorist organizations constitutes a blatant violation of the UN Charter and international law.

He asserted that the coercive unilateral measures imposed by the EU and the US on Syria negatively affected the livelihood of the Syrian people.

Atiyyeh called upon Europe to lift those coercive measures and stop supporting the terrorist organizations in Syria, hoping that Spain would play a key role between Syria and Europe in the political and diplomatic domains due to the historic cordial ties binding the two peoples.
