Astana, SANA- Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Rashid Alimov announced on Friday that the heads of member states of SCO are convinced that Astana process will help create conditions for a solution to the crisis in Syria within the context of the Geneva process.
In a press conference following the SCO summit in Astana, Alimov said that heads of member states of the SCO called for a political settlement of the crisis in Syria through a comprehensive and wide-ranging dialogue between the Syrians on the basis of the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
He pointed out that the SCO’s member states are convinced that the Astana process will help create conditions for all parties that have an interest in finding an acceptable solution to the crisis in Syria under the UN- sponsored Geneva process.
