Contet: Meetings will continue on Saturday with delegations participating in intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva

Geneva, SANA – Michael Contet, chief of staff of UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, said that meetings will continue on Saturday with the delegations participating in intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva.

In a press conference on Friday, Contet stressed the need for working towards constructive and objective dialogue, and that this round of talks is a stone that can be built upon, adding that this process will be difficult and complicated and no breakthrough can be expected soon.

He added that de Mistura met on Friday with the Syrian Arab Republic delegation and the “Riyadh opposition” delegation, exchanging viewpoints and evaluations during these meetings and presenting suggestions about negotiations and how to manage this process, adding that the papers submitted by the Envoy to the delegations are procedural documents and that they are awaiting responses to them.
