Damascus, SANA – The People’s Assembly approved at its session on Wednesday a draft law on the state’s right to protect locations of mineral resources and prevent illegal extraction, transfer and distribution of these resources and law No. 67 for 2006 and all contradictory rules.
The second article of the law stipulates that the state has right to ores and raw materials extracted by the public, private and joint sector sides from natural places in the territory, territorial waters and continental shelf of the Syrian Arab Republic and that the revenues go to the treasury of the state.
The third article of the law determines the value of the state’s right which can by adjusted annually by a decision from the Finance Minister.
