Kazakh Foreign Minister: Astana meeting part of the general efforts exerted for solving crisis in Syria

Astana, SANA – Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said that Astana meeting is considered part of the general efforts exerted for solving the crisis in Syria.

Abdrakhmanov clarified in a statement to Russian Sputnik News agency that he reaffirmed during his meeting with UN’s Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura that Astana meeting is a contribution to the comprehensive process of the Syrian talks in Geneva under the patronage of the UN.

He added that the atmosphere ahead of Astana meeting tomorrow is very positive, pointing out that the preparations are concentrated for convening the meeting.

In a similar context, de Mistura told Sputnik that work is serious prior to Astana meeting on Syria, saying “We work seriously” without mentioning details.
