Jaberi Ansari: Astana talks aim at bringing stability to Syria, creating suitable circumstances for launching serious dialogue

Astana, SANA – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari said that the Astana talks on the crisis in Syria aim at bringing stability to the country and creating the suitable circumstances for launching a serious dialogue that seeks a sustainable solution to the crisis in Syria.

Upon arrival in the Kazakh capital on Saturday, Jaberi Ansari told journalists that “We participate in these talks representing the Iranian government, which has announced since the beginning of the crisis in Syria that the solution will not be reached through the military means but rather via peaceful approaches and the serious political dialogue among the Syrians themselves.

On another context, the Iranian Embassy in Kazakhstan said that the Syrian talks in Astana will take place under Russian-Turkish-Iranian supervision during the 23rd and 24th of the current month.

The aims of the talks are boosting cessation of hostilities, effectively combating terrorism and holding an intra-Syrian dialogue between the government and the opposition groups in order to prepare the ground for a political solution to the crisis there, according to the Embassy.
