Czech President: There’s no moderate opposition in Syria, only extremist groups

Prague, SANA – Czech President Milos Zeman said that there is no “moderate opposition” in Syria, but rather only extremist groups, and that he disagrees in this evaluation with the position taken by the United States.

In an interview given to Czech website Parlamentni Listy (Parliamentary Papers), Zeman said that unlike the US, Russia is active in Russia in a legitimate manner, since the legitimate Syrian government invited Russia, while no legitimate Syrian official invited the Americans to Syria.

He stressed that the repercussions of what the Americans are doing in Syria will backfire on them because nobody invited them to go to that country.
