Cessation of hostilities agreement violated six more times by terrorists

Lattakia, SANA-The cessation of hostilities agreement has been violated six times by terrorist groups, raising the total number of violations to 819 since the agreement came into effect on 27 February, the Russian coordination center said on Monday.

The Russian center, based in Hmeimim airbase in Lattakia, added in a statement that the so-called Jaish al-Islam has violated the agreement six times during the past 24 hours by targeting a number of towns in the countryside of Damascus and Idleb provinces.

The statement added that 9 villages in Sweida and Lattakia provinces have joined the agreement raising the number to 218, while the number of the terrorist groups which show commitment to the agreement is 61.

The statement said that the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continued their attempts to foil the agreement, asserting that the so-called Jaish al-Islam targeted with mortar and rocket shells a number of villages in Damascus countryside.

It added that the so-called Ahrar al-Sham terrorist organization targeted al-Foua village in the countryside of Idleb.

The terrorist groups also targeted a number of residential neighborhoods in Aleppo including Tal Jabaqjeh area in the countryside of Aleppo.

The cessation of hostilities agreement does not cover ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council.
