Damascus, SANA – A banking workshop entitled the practical implementation of Basel II requirements and an introduction to Basel III rules kicked off in the Damascus-based Sheraton Hotel on Monday.
The four-day workshop will discuss the practical implementation of the New Capital Adequacy Framework (Basel II) requirements and an introduction to Basel III rules.
It also deals with the practical implementation of Basel I and II requirements to manage various types of risks related to banking, particularly the first pillar related to the minimum capital requirements.
Setting up risk management policies and procedures which help measure risks, monitor them and control their impacts at all levels, including the individual level or the level of related banking and financial units, will be tackled.
The workshop is organized by the Union of Arab Banks (UAB) in cooperation with the Central Bank of Syria.
